Hospice service in the news

Veterinary hospice care has been in the news lately. We offer this important service for both existing clients as well as new clients. Many people have a vet they love, but when the time comes for end-of-life decisions, nothing replaces having it performed in their own home. We care for remains as well, if desired. […]

Corneal ulcers 101

Our December newsletter features corneal ulcers – scratches on the outermost surface of the eye. Some dog breeds, such as shih tzus, boxers, pugs, and pekingeses, can have these scratches to the eye become disastrous – to the point of losing the eyeball! In those breeds, we must treat the eye very aggressively, such as […]

Your dog is fooling you

This is a fantastic article about dogs who deftly convince their owners they need food and treats constantly….and how they are lying (and overweight)! Beagle puppies

Had a dose of puppy fun today! Two very relaxed beagle girls! For the record, I still love Milly best – she’s the 10 year old beagle who was still too offended by the youngsters to be in the photo.

O’Fallon Newspaper

The O’Fallon Progress has a nice article featuring our practice! Many thanks to Zoe, the Bullmastiff, who was our very photogenic patient!

Or, just bring something nice to the staff, for the animals there depend on them! Working in a shelter environment is exhausting, so a little appreciation goes a long way!

A True Housecall Poster Child

Today we had a unique opportunity with a sweet German Shepherd named Juno. I first met Juno while working in a large veterinary clinic in St. Louis. Juno was so terrified of the vet clinic, she needed sedation and anti-anxiety medication. Even with those, she would tremble and hide behind her mom, scared to death. […]

Missouri-bound

Our license to practice in Missouri arrived today! We can now visit all of our St. Louis friends! Travel fees are being worked out, but we are open for business in MO!

Flea Season’s Over, Right?

Flea season’s over, right? The nights are finally getting colder. Soon we’ll get a frost, and all the fleas will be dead, right? Sorry, but it’s not that easy. (If it were, I wouldn’t write an article about it!) The height of flea season is now. Fall. Not June, but October. Surprised? Most people are! […]
