Many safe and effective options exist. Topicals like Frontline, Vectra, and K9 Advantix have been used for years. Collars such as Seresto or Preventic are popular as well, and work great. Recently, two new oral products came out that are getting fabulous reviews from both vets prescribing them and clients using them. Nexgard is a monthly flea and tick pill made by the Heartgard people.
Bravecto is my new favorite – it’s a flea and tick preventative pill that you give once and it lasts 3 months! It runs about $50 a tablet for all sizes. They offer a $35 rebate with the purchase of two. When you add up how much 6 months of Frontline costs, $65 for 6 months of flea and tick prevention is a pretty good deal! I
will be stocking the common sizes of Bravecto, or you can find it, and all the other products, on my online store.
